Woke up with a sinus infection and slept straight through the morning slot. I don't love breaking a running day, so once the house settled down I laced up around 8:30pm and went anyway.
New shoes came with it. My buddy Jason brought these back for me from the Philippines — Li-Ning, the Chinese running brand. I don't even know the exact model, something in their Feidian Elite carbon line by the look of the plate and the "BOOM FIBER" tag on the tongue. Never worn anything from them before.

First impression: bouncy. Really bouncy. The upper is soft in a way that surprised me — no break-in stiffness, just wraps the foot and gets out of the way. That combination makes you want to just go, which is exactly what a night run after a rough week needs.

Night runs have a different gear to them. No sun, no heat spiking the watch, just headlights and the sound of your own breathing. You put your head down and get it over with. There's something clean about that.
Been busy lately, and I've had a rough stretch staying on the right path myself — that eats more energy than any run does. But you keep hammering the stone. One more run tomorrow if I can get it in.
