Twenty miles on the treadmill Saturday. Started at 5:54am, first couple miles around 9:20 pace just to wake the legs up — didn't feel like much of anything yet.
This one went a lot smoother than the week before though. Somewhere around mile 6 it started clicking and I just kept letting it come down — 8:20s turned into 8:00s, then 7:50s — and I didn't have to stop once for the whole first sixteen miles, which I can't always say. Averaged 7:13 for that block. Gym I've been going to lately has way better ventilation than my usual spot, and honestly that probably had as much to do with it as anything in my legs.
Last mile of that sixteen I let it go — 6:45, just because I had some left and wanted to see it. Don't know if that means anything. Then cooled it down the rest of the way to twenty. Garmin called the whole thing a tempo effort by the end — average HR 155, 1,848 calories, which tracks for two and a half hours on a belt.
250 grams of carbs in over the whole thing — three gels, two carb drinks — no stomach issues, nothing to complain about. Wore the Megablast, same as always for these.
Rewarded myself with a Bojangles steak biscuit after, then sat in the hot tub for a while. Legs earned it.
Indianapolis is November 7th now, so this is getting real. Still saying 3:15 out loud, and weeks like this one make it feel less like wishful thinking. Hoping the conditions there are half as good as that gym was — Florida doesn't exactly train you for cold.

Empty hotel hot tub, post-run recovery soak.
